Russian "zvon" installation

In 1986 Bagot Bell provided a set of five "zvon" bells for a monastery of Russian Orthodox tradition. The notes are: F#, G#, A, C#, E
-- the largest bell F# has mouth diameter 570 mm and weighs 117 kg.

The bellringers stand amongst the bells, in the ground-level bell house. All the ringing is of a rhythmical character, special to this class of bell music, not primarily melodic or harmonic. The bells are tuned with an inner tonality different from the usual Western European standard.

In 1990 five small, high-register bells were added.
