STAGES IN RESTORATION OF A 650 KG MURPHY BELL

1. Bell before cleaning.


2. After cleaning by a glass-bead blasting process.


3. Partly finished new headstock in glue-laminated jarrah


4. Complete new headstock, ready for attachment to bell


5. Specially constructed housing for self-aligning plain bearing.


6. New clapper-support box in wood, with split plain-bearing shell in modern elastomeric material.


7. All on test in workshop. 8. Packed and ready to go
